To help your child feel at ease while receiving dental care, Healthcare Network offers sedation dentistry administered by a highly dedicated and skilled team of board-certified Healthcare Network pediatric dentists and registered nurses. IV sedation is administered in collaboration with Pediatric Dentistry Anesthesia Associates, a leading pediatric medical anesthesia group.
At Healthcare Network we offer two types of sedation: nitrous oxide and IV sedation. The type of sedation recommended by our dentist will depend on your child’s age, anxiety levels, and overall health.
Nitrous oxide also known as laughing gas, is a very safe, mild sedative that will help your child remain relaxed during dental procedures. It is administered through a facial mask and allows your child can communicate with their dentist when needed, but will not be startled by surrounding sounds or smells during treatment. Once their dental procedure is complete, the nose mask is removed, and your child will recover from the gas relatively quickly.
Intravenous (IV) sedation is simple and safe for children. It is ideal for children who require lengthy or complex procedures or for children who have a medical, physical or emotional disability that limits their ability to understand directions and remain calm.
Healthcare Network provides payment assistance in the form of a Sliding Fee Scale. It’s one of many ways we are making healthcare more accessible to all.
