Providing a pathway for medical assistant certification
Naples, Fla. (May 10, 2023) – Healthcare Network’s Medical Assistant Training Program (MATP), has been evaluated by American Medical Technologists (AMT) as meeting or surpassing AMT criteria for medical assisting competencies. This affiliation means that Healthcare Network medical assistant trainees, after successfully completing the 720-hour training program, are eligible to apply for the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification exam.
Currently accepting internal and external applicants for its third class, the MATP provides trainees the opportunity to become registered medical assistants while earning a full-time wage with Healthcare Network, including receiving benefits and paid time off.
The training program, which has a 100% pass rate on the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam, prepares trainees with the knowledge and skills necessary to work as a medical assistant at any medical facility, after a two-year commitment with Healthcare Network. Community members are encouraged to apply to the program by emailing HResources@HealthcareSWFL.org to get more information and begin the application process. Applications must be submitted by May 26, 2023.
“Developing a Medical Assistant Training Program that provides a high quality, evidence-based education and meets the needs of our staff and community has been a gratifying adventure, said Valerie Sattler, director of clinical education for Healthcare Network. “To watch each trainee gain confidence and thrive as medical professionals and observe them with patients, putting those skills to use, is a dream come true. Not only are we changing the career path for the trainees but we’re also providing an extraordinary educational opportunity for the community that in turn enhances the health and wellbeing of our patient population.”
